Past Continuous Tense

Penggunaan Past Continuous Tense: Past Continuous Tense digunakan untuk menyatakan:

1. Tindakan yang sedang berlangsung pada waktu tertentu di masa lalu.
   • Example: She was reading a book at 8 PM last night.
2. Tindakan yang sedang berlangsung ketika tindakan lain terjadi.
   • Example: I was watching TV when the phone rang.
3. Situasi atau latar belakang yang sedang berlangsung di masa lalu.
   • Example: They were living in London at that time.

Rumus:

• Positif (Verbal): Subject + was/were + Verb-ing + Object

  • Example: He was playing football.

• Negatif (Verbal): Subject + was/were + not + Verb-ing + Object

  • Example: He was not playing football.

• Pertanyaan (Verbal): Was/Were + Subject + Verb-ing + Object?

  • Example: Was he playing football?

• Positif (Nominal): Subject + was/were + Complement

  • Example: They were students.

• Negatif (Nominal): Subject + was/were + not + Complement

  • Example: They were not students.

• Pertanyaan (Nominal): Was/Were + Subject + Complement?

  • Example: Were they students?
