Past Perfect Tense

Penggunaan Past Perfect Tense: Past Perfect Tense digunakan untuk menyatakan:

1. Tindakan yang sudah selesai sebelum tindakan lain terjadi di masa lalu.
   • Example: She had finished her homework before dinner.
2. Tindakan yang terjadi sebelum waktu tertentu di masa lalu.
   • Example: They had left the party by midnight.
3. Pengalaman hidup atau keadaan yang sudah terjadi sebelum waktu tertentu di masa lalu.
   • Example: I had never seen such a beautiful sunset before that trip.

Rumus:

• Positif (Verbal): Subject + had + Verb 3 + Object

  • Example: He had completed the project.

• Negatif (Verbal): Subject + had not + Verb 3 + Object

  • Example: He had not completed the project.

• Pertanyaan (Verbal): Had + Subject + Verb 3 + Object?

  • Example: Had he completed the project?

• Positif (Nominal): Subject + had + been + Complement

  • Example: They had been friends for years.

• Negatif (Nominal): Subject + had not been + Complement

  • Example: They had not been friends for years.

• Pertanyaan (Nominal): Had + Subject + been + Complement?

  • Example: Had they been friends for years?
